What it is

A dual number tab label carries two related numbers on one label: the main identification number on the label itself, and a matching sequential number on a detachable tab.

The tab is removed and kept by whoever applies the seal, so the issued number is logged independently of the pack. It means the record and the seal can be reconciled later without relying on the pack coming back intact.

What happens when the label is disturbed

This is an option applied to a permanent tamper evident label, not a different kind of evidence. The label still works the same way: lifting it breaks the face, leaves the hidden message and adhesive behind on the surface, and the label cannot be put back looking as it did. The option below changes what is printed, numbered or verified — not the tamper mechanism.
