Ultraviolet (UV) inks are used as a security feature within labels to add a high quality print for a specific message within the label.
UV ink is invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen with the use of a UV light or black light.
UV inks can be printed on the surface or in the sub surface message. If the message is printed on the surface, packaging integrity can be verified easily and quickly with the use of a black light.
If the sub surface void message contains UV, it is a covert security feature which will help defeat counterfeiters and validate genuine products such as pharmaceuticals and other high value items.
