What happens when removed

Lifting the label breaks the face layer and reveals the hidden message on the label itself. Nothing is transferred to the surface — the pack, tote or asset is left clean — but the label is spent and cannot be put back looking as it did. Because no message is left behind, the control in a non-residue workflow is the seal itself: the expected unique seal present and matching the record means a normal handover, while a seal missing, changed or not matching is an exception to investigate. Outside a workflow where issued seals are recorded, a missing seal is not by itself evidence of tampering. It makes interference visible after the event — it does not prevent opening.
