How it works
What tamper evidence actually does here
Tamper evident tape, security tags and labels are separating constructions. Any attempt to open, peel or re-seal splits the layers and leaves a permanent VOID message. They deter and reveal interference and support your decision at goods-in; they are not a physical barrier. Getting it right
Practical points before you roll out
Match the construction to the surface
Poly mailers, corrugate, coated cartons, garments and shoe boxes all behave differently. Total transfer leaves the message behind, non residue leaves the surface clean. Test on your own packaging before committing to volume.
Decide who checks, and when
Tamper evidence pays back when the returns team knows what a voided seal means and what happens next. Surface-printed instructions and clear wording make the policy self-explanatory to the customer too.
Write it into the returns policy
Customers accept a returns condition far more readily when the seal and the wording explain it at the point of opening.
Plan the application point
Hand, dispenser or automatic case sealer at peak throughput. This drives roll format, web width and whether numbering can be captured at the despatch scan.
